Reliable connectivity. Intelligent backup. Industrial durability.
The HoweVis HVT-IR557-52X Series Industrial 5G RedCap/4G/3G 5-Port Cellular Gateway Router is designed to deliver secure, stable, and always-on connectivity for Industrial IoT, remote monitoring, automation systems, and unattended equipment. Combining high-speed cellular communication, wired Ethernet, optional Wi-Fi, serial connectivity, VPN security, and industrial-grade hardware protection in one compact device, it provides a dependable networking solution where fixed broadband is unavailable, unstable, or difficult to install.
With one configurable WAN/LAN port and four LAN ports, the HVT-IR557-52X Series can connect multiple Ethernet devices through a single gateway. It is ideal for PLCs, HMIs, industrial PCs, IP cameras, sensors, controllers, smart lockers, digital signage, self-service terminals, and other network-enabled equipment. The built-in RS232 port, optional RS485 port, and optional I/O interfaces also enable convenient integration with serial devices, field instruments, and industrial control systems.
The router supports flexible cellular options, including 5G RedCap, 5G, 4G, and 3G connectivity. 5G RedCap provides an efficient option for IoT applications that need the extended coverage and low-latency advantages of 5G while optimizing device complexity and deployment cost. Selected 5G models support both SA and NSA networking, while 4G models can support CAT1, CAT4, or CAT6 configurations. Optional 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, single-SIM, and dual-SIM versions allow customers to select the right configuration according to local carrier coverage, data demand, and project requirements.
Built for continuous operation, the HVT-IR557-52X Series supports wired broadband, cellular WAN, and optional Wi-Fi access with intelligent network backup. When the primary network becomes unavailable, the router can switch to an available backup connection to help maintain data transmission. Optional dual-SIM failover, link detection, automatic redial, communication module restart, and watchdog-based recovery functions reduce downtime and limit the need for onsite service. This makes the router especially suitable for remote and unmanned locations where network stability is essential.
Security is integrated into the router’s network architecture. The device supports VPN technologies including IPSec, OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP, and GRE for secure remote communication. Additional protections include SPI firewall, DoS defense, ACL access control, NAT, port forwarding, DMZ, IP/MAC binding, and multi-level user management. These functions help protect communications between field devices, cloud platforms, control centers, and remote maintenance teams.
For Industrial IoT integration, the router supports MQTT, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, EtherNet/IP, NTRIP, and other communication functions for data collection, protocol conversion, remote control, and cloud connectivity. It also supports remote configuration, firmware upgrades, system logs, SNMP, and TR-069 management, helping operators manage distributed devices more efficiently.
Designed for demanding industrial environments, the HVT-IR557-52X Series features a rugged metal enclosure, IP31 protection, 7–32 VDC wide-voltage input, reverse-polarity and overvoltage protection, Ethernet isolation, and ESD protection. With an operating temperature range of -35°C to 75°C, it is a reliable connectivity solution for smart manufacturing, transportation, energy, utilities, environmental monitoring, security, and remote asset-management applications.
